Several killed as powerful quake rocks Colombia, causing 'major damage'

At least 18 people have been killed in the Colombian town of Pereira in a major earthquake that struck on Monday, causing injuries and damage to buildings and prompting evacuations in the capital, Bogota. Colombia’s geological service measured the quake at magnitude 6.6, while the US Geological Survey put it at 7.4. The tremor was felt across parts of Latin America, including Ecuador and Panama.
