There is that big beast that is always watching. I swear, if I blink, he counts that.
There is that big black beast with no face. I swear, if I breathe, he counts that.
I saw many flowers. So beautiful, yet pathetic. I wanted to have a garden of those beautiful flowers.
The beast said to me that the flowers will dry and fall.
I said to him, so what? They’ll grow again and bloom as fresh as ever.
“But not in your garden. Look at your fragile soul, it can never take care of the flowers. And without care, nothing survives long,” he said.
“I’ll take care of them every day. I’ll water them, trim them, and I’ll never let them dry,” I said.
“Your whisper lies in grey, and I am your shadow who guides them. How can I lie, when even I leave you in the dark?” said the beast.
“Well, I guess I’m not allowed to. But why are you stopping me? Why can’t I have the garden of my desired flowers?” I asked, screaming.
“I love you. No one can love you more than me. I am your only lover who will stay till the very end, and you know it well enough,” he said.
“That’s not the answer! I asked why you are stopping me. I want the flowers in my garden. What’s wrong if I have them? Why are you not letting me have them?” I asked, going crazy.
“Well, sweet, am I stopping you?” said the beast as calmly as ever.
And then again, the whole world of words in my mind couldn’t find a single answer to the simplest question.
“Listen, sweet, after all these darkest nights and nightmares, there is a huge ocean, and it will be yours. Only you will be the master of it,” he said.
“Stay with me and never leave me, until I vanish into the mud,” I said.
“Yes. I will, and I have to,” said the beast.
Brilliantly Numb.
