From 8 Days to 8 Years

From 8 Days to 8 Years

Day Of My Life (20/04/26)

20/04/26

I wake up before the alarm most days now. Not because I’m disciplined… just because my sleep isn’t deep anymore.

8 AM. Work. Same routine. Same road. Same faces.

Working in CNF sounds normal when you say it, but living it every day feels different. It’s repetitive. Mechanical. Like you’re moving, but not really going anywhere. Papers, pressure, small mistakes that feel bigger than they should.

I leave home at 8. I come back at 7.
That’s 11 hours gone just like that.

The strange part isn’t the work.
It’s coming back.

The house is quiet. Too quiet.

For the last 8 days, I’ve been alone here. No voices, no background noise, nothing. At first, it felt peaceful. Freedom. No rules.

Now it just feels empty.

I sit in my room sometimes without even turning the lights on. Just scrolling, thinking, wasting time while time is slowly wasting me too.

And recently, something hit me.

If I feel like this after just 8 days…
then how did my dad do it for 8 years?

Alone. Working. Carrying everything without saying much.

I used to think he was just strict, always serious, always busy.
Now it makes more sense.

Silence changes a person.
Responsibility changes them even more.

Maybe he didn’t have the luxury to feel tired the way I do.
Maybe he just kept going because he had no other option.

And here I am feeling lost after a few quiet nights.

I’m starting to understand things I didn’t notice before.
Not through advice. Not through lectures.
Just through living a small part of it.

I still don’t have everything figured out.
Work feels heavy. Nights feel longer than they should.

But one thing is clear now

Life isn’t just about chasing something big.
Sometimes it’s about surviving the quiet parts without breaking.

And maybe
that’s what I’m learning right now
