THE METEORITE

THE METEORITE

Once, the meteorite was strong, you know..
Just having it there in the afterglow..
Even on lonely days, the heavy rain....
It carried its way, not fearing about pain....

Though the darkness tried holding it low..
It still burned brightly through it below..
And even now, among the endless night...
The meteorite still searches for its own light...

The world threw strange things at its door..
It never faced a storm like this before..
So the legacy it once carried...
Is now no longer valued...

That tragedy shattered its spine,,
And dimmed away its golden flare...
A pretty planet without misjudgment,,
It couldn't find anywhere...

These days, its heart feels out of place,
So many battles it has already faced...
So before it loses what’s left of it,
It needs some distance, needs some rest...

For now, leave its name where the silence lies
Let the meteorite fade with the night..
It carried too many storms inside,
While pretending that it's alright..

So sing it low, laugh at it for now,
This is not where it gets off.
Someday, when the branches show,
It will find where the blossoms blow.

To the few who stayed through,
Every struggle and suffering...
Thank you for holding onto it all,
When even it couldn’t do the same thing...
Others only counted its failures,
And watched its wounds like a passing scene..
But you still spoke to it gently,
When the world turned cold and mean..

Please don’t search for it for a while,
Don’t feel hurt if it fades from the sky...
It’s only trying to rebuild its speed,
Preparing again to swiftly fly...

And when the seasons change again,
When these scars no longer remain,
It will return stronger than before,
And your faith in it, won’t be in vain.
