The Voice

The Voice

My heart melts at the sound,
Oh, is it a melody?
Time stops,
My burning sun cools down,
The wild sea in me starts to wave.

Is it the wind
That makes it sound lighter?
Or maybe my ears that hear it so clearly?
Or is it just intentional?
Because it sounds like the birds that wake up early.

Maybe like cotton candy,
So sweet, yet light,
So soft that it makes
My heart brighter.

Oh, this is wrong,
Oh, this is not right,
Oh, why do I find ways to hear it?
Why do I still run?
You don’t know
From the very beginning.

It’s like a song,
I can spend days hearing it,
It goes deep in,
Even though none of the notes
Are meant for me,
Not knowing why
I still hear it with ease.

Oh, why does it melt me?
No, why does it kill?
There’s no such thing
As sweet as this pill.
Knowing it’ll never sing for me,
Why do I still go toward it so still?
