If there was a next life,
I would like to be a flower,
A soft blue flower,
Because a flower has only two rules:
One, to bloom,
Another, to lose.
If this were all a nightmare,
I would like to be a watch
Of someone who loves time,
Who wouldn’t treat me like a crime.
If this were all fake,
I would like to be the depth of sleep,
At least it would remember me
As an unforgettable peace.
If this were all imaginary,
I would like to be the middle of an intermission,
At least it would notice me
Doing something with precision.
If “I liked you” was a lie,
Then I would like to be the moment
You felt it was the truth.
Because I did, and I do,
Even if it’s the fault of my youth.
If only I knew who I am
Or what I came to do,
Who I should be, who I know,
Who I can reach or outgrow,
Who I can touch, who I can show,
Who I can love, or maybe grow.
But no, I’ve never been chased,
Because I’m not worthy to be owed.
I just saw what they wanted
And became only what I showed.
As I am Brilliantly Numb...
